Ski rack/cargo box sales were down a bit last year, but, according to SIA, no more than every other category. While racks and boxes take up floor space, they provide a sales opportunity for nearly every customer that walks into an outdoor retailer.
Last year, “top of car” rack sales were $21.5 million, down from $23.1 million the year before and $22.2 million the year before that, according to SIA.
