We are looking for a motivated and self-directed college or grad-school student to join our editorial team in Boulder, Colo. Our 10- to 12-week internships offer upcoming reporters and editors a glimpse into the inner workings of a business-to-business online publication that’s unique in the ski industry. Interns become an integral part of a close-knit family that consists of, among other titles, Ski and Skiing, and will work directly with the editor to produce content for SkiingBusiness.com.
Interns will talk with and meet key people in the ski industry, attend events, and walk away with clips from all categories Skiing Business covers: news, features, profiles, tips and products. Unlike many other publications, Skiing Business isn’t aimed at consumers. Instead, its focus is primarily on ski retailers and manufacturers. That means, you, as an intern, will work with company founders and executives, shop owners, organization leaders and other industry experts.

Duties: Duties may include: fact-checking, researching, reporting, writing, proofreading and editing articles; calling in products and gear for testing; gathering images; participating in editorial meetings; developing multimedia packages for the web and brainstorming story ideas.
Qualifications: Interns must be willing to adapt with the ever-changing world of a year-old publication while being reliable and not afraid to bring ideas to the table. Previous journalism experience—either with a local publication or a student newspaper—is preferred, and an interest in business writing is a plus. Knowledge of and an interest in skiing is required.
Deadline to apply: 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 23 (for summer internship)
Start date: TBD
All internships are unpaid. Interns must receive school credit.
Please email resume, cover letter and no more than three writing samples to Ryan Dionne, Skiing Business’ editor, at EditorSkiingBusiness@BonnierCorp.com.
